How does St Mary's Online work?

Below is a guide to some of the services available using St Mary’s Online via AccurX.

Contact your GP about a health problem

This is for routine, non-urgent requests only. If you require an appointment, you can book via the NHS app or call us on 015394 88484.

Fit / Sickness Note Request

If this is your first Fit / Sickness note request, please book an appointment with a GP.

For a Fit / Sickness note extension, submit your request via St Mary’s Online.

You only need to request a Fit / Sickness note if you have been off work sick for over 7 days. If you are off work for 7 days or less, your employer should not ask you for medical evidence that you’ve been ill. Instead they can ask you to confirm that you’ve been ill by filling in a form when you return to work. This is called self-certification.

Referral Follow-Up

If you know where you have been referred to, you can contact the service directly for an update. If you have been referred to Westmorland General Hospital, Lancaster Royal Infirmary or Furness General Hospital, you can call the Community Patient Contact Centre on 01539 716998 for further information.

If you are unsure, please submit your query via St Mary’s Online.

Test Results

If a blood test, urine sample, poo sample (fit test) or x-ray was requested by the GP, you will be able to view the results on the NHS app.

For further information and to download the app please visit the NHS website.

If the test was requested by the hospital, then please contact the appropriate department for the results.

In all other cases, please submit your query using St Mary’s Online.

Doctor's Letter

Please note that there may be a charge for this service. Please see here for more information.

In the case of non-NHS work, please allow up to one month for completion.

This includes private medical records, insurance reports and educational letters.

Something else

Please submit any other admin queries via St Mary’s Online.

This can also include any information you have been asked to provide following an consultation with your GP.
